This migration will involve repurposing an existing inventory system, such as Field Services, or other relevant services and apps within Dynamics. The project team will take the existing dataset and design and adapt it to fit the necessary tables, fields, and relationships within the Dynamics system. This project will provide learners with hands-on experience in data migration, database design, and the use of enterprise-level software solutions, allowing them to apply their classroom knowledge in a real-world scenario.
Key tasks include:
- Analyzing the existing Excel inventory data.
- Designing the database schema in Dynamics 365.
- Mapping and migrating the data to the new system.
- Testing and validating the migrated data.
- Documenting the migration process and any customizations made.
The project deliverables will include:
- A fully functional inventory database within Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- A detailed database schema design document.
- A comprehensive data migration plan and execution report.
- Test results and validation reports ensuring data integrity.
- Documentation of the entire migration process, including any customizations and configurations made.
Providing specialized, in-depth knowledge and general industry insights for a comprehensive understanding.
Sharing knowledge in specific technical skills, techniques, methodologies required for the project.
Direct involvement in project tasks, offering guidance, and demonstrating techniques.
Providing access to necessary tools, software, and resources required for project completion.
Scheduled check-ins to discuss progress, address challenges, and provide feedback.
