communication content management usability wordpress web design auditing wix.comThis project focuses on updating and modernizing the organization’s website, which was self-built and currently lacks professional structure and design. As a nonprofit that supports newcomers to Canada, an informative, accessible, and user-friendly website is essential for outreach and communication. The aim is to redesign or rebuild the site with better usability, mobile responsiveness, and the ability to update content with ease. Students will have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a real-world web design project while working with a mission-driven team.
Audit the current website to identify structural and design gaps
Propose a site architecture that improves user navigation and accessibility
Design and develop a modern, mobile-responsive website using appropriate tools (e.g., WordPress, Wix, custom coding if needed)
Train staff on how to update and maintain the site moving forward
Deliver final documentation including login credentials, maintenance instructions, and content management guidelines
Scheduled check-ins to discuss progress, address challenges, and provide feedback.
