This project invites students to support a newly incorporated nonprofit organization based in downtown Toronto that serves a large population of newcomers. As the organization expands its impact, there is a growing need to build internal capacity through strategic hiring and volunteer recruitment. The goal is to create a comprehensive, legally compliant, and culturally sensitive talent acquisition plan tailored to a nonprofit context. Students will help identify optimal sourcing channels, improve job descriptions, and create interview guides for various roles—especially those related to digital outreach and program delivery.

Deliverables

Evaluate current staffing and volunteer needs, including key roles that support growth

Design a 3–6 month plan to attract top candidates for essential positions

Create templates for inclusive and accessible job postings

Recommend recruitment platforms and strategies suitable for the nonprofit sector

Develop structured interview guides and reference check templates

Ensure compliance with hiring standards and legal considerations in Ontario

Provide a final report with all deliverables, actionable recommendations, and templates
