The goal of this project is to support the Centre in completing various maintenance tasks, including minor repairs, facility upgrades, and routine upkeep. By applying classroom knowledge in building management and maintenance, learners will help ensure the Centre's facilities are operating optimally. This project provides an opportunity for learners to gain hands-on experience in facility management, focusing on practical solutions to real-world maintenance challenges. Tasks will be closely related and manageable, allowing learners to apply their skills in a cohesive manner. The project is designed to be completed within 80 hours, ensuring a focused and intensive learning experience.
The deliverables for this project include a comprehensive maintenance plan that outlines the necessary repairs, upgrades, and routine upkeep tasks. Additionally, learners will provide a detailed report documenting the completed tasks, including any challenges faced and solutions implemented. The project will culminate in a presentation to the Centre's management, showcasing the improvements made and recommendations for future maintenance strategies. This ensures that the Centre has a clear path forward for maintaining optimal facility performance.

About the company
Mount Pleasant Islamic Centre (MPIC), located at 160 Salvation Road in Brampton, Ontario, was established in May 2015. Previously a historical church, the centre now serves as a welcoming space for the local Muslim community, offering daily prayers, Friday prayers, Taraweeh, and Eid prayers, along with various educational and community programs. Additionally, MPIC engages in community outreach initiatives, hosts family events, and offers marriage and funeral services. The centre is committed to promoting human values such as justice, equality, mercy, compassion, peace, and brotherhood, aiming to prepare the youth based on true Islamic educational principles in light of the Qur’an.
