data-driven decision makingThe Project Goal is evaluate the choices made by NHL teams at the Entry Draft by measuring actual performance of players selected who were outperformed by players selected later in the draft.
The second goal is to review how those choices could have been impacted by the application of CoreFive's Team Profile Index to the decision making process.
Learners will be required to analyze NHL Draft Results from the 2017 to 2020 drafts to identify cases where the team selected a player who has been outperformed by a player who was selected later in the draft. Learners will not require sports management skills as this is purely an analytical exercise.
The cases identified will be cross referenced with CoreFive's Team Profile Index to assess the its impact it could have had on the decision.
Prepare a report outlining the findings, conclusions and recommendations.
