african-american history analytical skills research papers critical thinking researchThis project invites history majors to delve into the rich tapestry of African-American history from the 1960s to the present day. The goal is to explore significant policies, events, and civil rights victories that have shaped the African-American experience over the decades. Students will investigate landmark Supreme Court cases and analyze the pivotal role women played in the Civil Rights Movement. By examining these elements, learners will gain a comprehensive understanding of the social, political, and cultural transformations that have occurred. The project encourages students to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world historical research, fostering critical thinking and analytical skills. The final objective is to synthesize this information into a cohesive narrative that highlights the ongoing struggle for equality and justice.
The project requires the creation of a detailed research paper or brief that encapsulates the findings on African-American history from the 1960s to today. Additionally, students will develop a timeline that visually represents key events, policies, and contributions of women in the Civil Rights Movement.
