Details

The Alberta Community Togetherness Society (ACTS) is seeking to enhance its accounting and compliance processes to ensure transparency and adherence to regulatory standards. As a non-profit organization, ACTS must maintain accurate financial records and comply with various governmental regulations. The project aims to streamline existing accounting procedures and develop a compliance checklist tailored to non-profit requirements. This initiative will provide learners with the opportunity to apply their accounting knowledge in a real-world setting, focusing on the unique challenges faced by non-profit organizations. The project will involve analyzing current financial practices, identifying areas for improvement, and proposing solutions that align with industry standards. By the end of the project, learners will have gained practical experience in financial compliance and contributed to the operational efficiency of a community-focused organization.

Deliverables

The project deliverables will include a detailed report outlining the current accounting and compliance processes of ACTS, along with identified gaps and recommended improvements. Additionally, learners will create a comprehensive compliance checklist specifically designed for non-profit organizations. This checklist will serve as a practical tool for ACTS to ensure ongoing adherence to financial regulations. The final deliverables will also include a presentation summarizing the findings and proposed solutions, providing ACTS with actionable insights to enhance their financial operations.
