Little 5 Points Oral History Compilation

The Little 5 Points Business Association seeks to preserve and celebrate the rich history of the Little 5 Points neighborhood through an oral history project. Learners will conduct interviews, gather historical data, and compile these narratives into a cohesive collection. This project will offer students the opportunity to apply their research, interviewing, and storytelling skills, while also gaining a deeper understanding of the cultural and economic dynamics that have shaped Little 5 Points. Event Planning Assistant

The Little 5 Points Business Association is looking for someone to assist with event planning in Little 5 Points, Atlanta, Georgia. Applicants should possess integrity, outstanding interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills. Looking for a take charge, personable individual, with ability to manage administration and logistics. Applicant should be passionate about making a difference in the community, have the ability to manage multiple projects, and the ability to accomplish projects with little supervision. Event planning may include assisting in all aspects of planning events, event coordination and execution. Planner will assist in outreach through media and social media channels, and email blasts. Assistant will aggressively gather information on each event to achieve quality event execution, conduct research, talk with individual businesses, and find resources to help make decisions about event possibilities. Planner will propose new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process and serve as a liaison with L5P businesses, vendors and others on event related matters. The intern should have a love for special event management, provide outstanding customer service, be an enthusiastic professional, and be able to build relationships. Must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, meet deadlines, and be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends during events. Assist with managing on-site production and clean up for events and closing out all events as required This is an unpaid internship that will be fun!
