project planning user experience (ux) design user interface (ui) design wireframing persona development figma (design software) user research mock ups milestones (project management) researchThe main objective of this project is to design a cohesive and user-friendly newsfeed that serves as the central hub of the app, effectively bringing together various elements of the user experience. This newsfeed will display a mix of user-generated content and promotional material in a way that is both engaging and easy to navigate. The primary focus is on maintaining a consistent aesthetic throughout the app, ensuring that all content is presented in a balanced manner that enhances user interaction and overall satisfaction.
Primary Focuses:
- Cohesive Design: Develop a unified newsfeed that integrates seamlessly with the app’s overall design and structure.
- Content Balance: Ensure that user-generated content and promotional material are displayed in a way that is engaging without overwhelming the user.
- User Experience: Focus on creating an intuitive and user-friendly interface that encourages exploration and interaction with the newsfeed.
The completed project ends with a final document sent to the development team so they can start building the new design.
- Project Plan-
- Create a Seamless City Exploration Experience: Develop a user-friendly and intuitive wire flow for city exploration experiences directly on our platform.
- Ensure Smooth Integration: Design a solution that fits seamlessly into our existing platform and aligns with our city-exploration and technical infrastructure.
- Review requirements and existing designs- Familiarize themselves with the existing product to understand the requirements, design work, and feedback that already exists, and to identify gaps to be filled in the next stage.
- Refine Design Based on Feedback: Incorporate user testing feedback to improve wireframes and prototypes.
- Ensure Seamless Integration: Verify that the final design aligns with our existing platform and technical requirements.
- Create a flow for uses to book and purchase our experiences in app
- Finalize- Handoff all deliverables and findings in a package that allows for your work to be easily understood and incorporated into future projects.
Projects typically include 1-2 deliverables plus design recommendations with wireframes/mock ups as the final deliverable. Examples of possible deliverables are included below – please feel free to copy and expand on the descriptions below to fit your specific product/project context and needs.
- Design Audit- audit the current user flow to identify pain points, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement
- Competitive research - analysis of direct or indirect competitors' design strengths and weaknesses, with actionable recommendations
- User research- research plans, screener surveys, user interviews, and/or persona development to better understand users
- Usability testing- summary of key findings and recommendations, or documentation of testing sessions to understand users’ experience of and interaction with your product
- Redesign and/or redesign recommendations- design improved flows for the distinct user types. Workshop ideas and turn those into wireframes or mockups that show exactly how the solution could work
- Prototype- once high fidelity mockups are complete, create a prototype in Figma that can be used to test and validate the designs
[Note the text included below describes Springboard's requirements for collaboration with a design team. Feel free to add additional ways that you plan to support the team as needed]
- Preparation of any relevant resources and assets in advance of the kick off call
- With a regular weekly check-in call
- Reasonably responsive throughout the collaboration to unsure progress is not blocked.
- Allow the learners to share the work they do for us in job search materials

Sustainable cities and communitiesAbout the company
Hidden Gemz is a city-exploration platform that offers bookable year-round, self-guided experiences designed for friends, couples, and newcomers to explore multiple local spots in a single day. Our experiences include a meal, an activity, and a dessert, all covered by a single ticket.
This approach not only promotes social interaction and city exploration but also drives revenue to local businesses. Each participating business receives a portion of the ticket sales directly when someone visits with a ticket. Hidden Gemz actively markets these bookable experiences to attract new customers, enhancing the visibility and appeal of local spots.
In September 2024, we will being our mobile app development.
