What you'll do:

For this project you will support the implementation of additional network and email security profiles and settings. Work on the Email side will involve profiles/filters setup to better manage spam and phishing emails as well as user safety and security. In addition, you may be asked to research, and provide recommendations and configurations for optimal setups and solutions that meet organizational needs.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Sophos Firewall or Basic terms and conditional access as well as firewall features and filtering methods.
• Knowledge of VPN configurations and use cases and configurations for OpenVPN.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Online Filtering and Policies.
• Knowledge of Intune MDM
• Knowledge of MDM for Android/iOS

Project Goal(s):

Enhance and augment email security, systems and policies for daily use and varied onsite and remote stakeholders. In addition, provide a more efficient environment for management of users and access.

Project Specifics:

Learners will work to improve the inbound and outbound rules for detecting common threats and keywords internally (e.g., to filter items to junk).

Assist with the creation of policies to append warnings properly to email messages from unknown sources.

Firewall side - support work aimed at making improvements and recommendations on setups and configurations of firewalls between locations and for User VPN’s to connect resources efficiently and safely.

Provide feedback on networks and wireless configurations for organizations and setups for best performance and usability. Benefits and alternatives will be outlined and weighed.

MDM Management - support the identification and creation of internal policies and management of settings and licenses for devices without using more costly third party utilities. Scripts and policies will be developed for application/enforcement on devices.

IT Specialist and Innovation/IT Leader, other business participants depending upon project. The Learner will be supported through meaningful mentorship and staff time to enhance their learning experience. The Learner will be offered access to required tools and technology, as well as access to data and any other resources that may be required to complete the project.
