Details

This project will help a Toronto-based nonprofit organization that supports newcomers in Canada identify new funding opportunities and prepare compelling grant applications. The organization is in a critical growth phase and requires sustainable financial resources to expand its programs. Students will gain hands-on experience in grant writing by conducting funder research, aligning program outcomes with grant objectives, and preparing a detailed proposal draft. The goal is to build a strong foundation for the organization’s grant-seeking strategy, which will directly support long-term impact in the community.

Deliverables
  • Research government, foundation, and private funding sources aligned with the organization’s mission
  • Identify eligibility criteria and timelines for at least three high-potential grant opportunities
  • Prepare a grant application template that includes a needs statement, program description, measurable outcomes, and budget
  • Tailor one full proposal draft for a real or upcoming funding opportunity
  • Create a grant submission calendar and provide best practices for follow-up and stewardship
  • Deliver a final grant strategy report with editable templates and proposal materials
